OUR PROGRAMS

HUMAN CONDITIONING

Opening the first ever Lesley University Independent Film Festival, Human Conditioning dives into many social issues, as well as humanity itself. This program has a strong focus on human nature, from documentaries showing different parts of society to gritty realism in fiction. Foreign films from all around the world from Canada and France to Switzerland populate this program, along with American ones, giving it a wide range of viewpoints from filmmakers. This diversity also extends into queer identity, with sexuality and gender finding a voice in this program.

DIEGESIS

This program’s main focus is on films with very unique narratives. Whether with a story so captivating that you lose yourself in it, or a heartfelt documentary so raw and true that it leaves you in awe, Diegesis will leave you fulfilled. This second program features foreign films as well as American ones, showcasing storytelling from all around the world. Most shorts featured in this program have a longer runtime, leaving more time for the audience to get immersed into the story of every one.

MUCH-NEEDED COMFORT

This past year has been rough on all of us. To close out the Lesley University Independent Film Festival, we present Much-Needed Comfort, a feel-good, lighthearted end to the festival. This program features animation alongside live action films. Vibrant colors, both visually and tonally, are present throughout the entire program, and the comedy films lined up will lead to countless laughs and great one-liners remembered. Take a break from reality and step into Much-Needed Comfort.
